What to Expect

For Parents

During each CollegeDrive private tutoring session, your student will receive personalized guidance from a trained SAT/ACT expert on how to increase their test scores. Our approach focuses on specific question types and strategies that are part of the unique CollegeDrive approach to improve scores faster and by larger margins. Your student will receive one-on-one coaching that involves both guided and individual timed practice to practice pacing under time constraints.

Tutors assign homework out of official College Board SAT practice tests and is tailored to the student’s specific strengths and weaknesses as well as their progress through the program. Each session will go beyond mere drilling and focus on skills and strategies that students can use to improve faster and with more confidence.

Although every student is unique, more time preparing for the test will generally produce larger score increases.  With that in mind, we encourage students to consider enrolling in larger packages (six hours and higher).

Every CollegeDrive tutor knows that deliberate practice and confidence-building are key to setting students up for success. That’s why methods on how to cope with various test-taking anxieties are incorporated in students’ sessions to emphasize what their tutor knows all along: They can do it!
